REHOME YOUR PRETTIES

SAVE THE LOVELIES

Plant Rescue

OUR PLANT RESCUE SERVICES ARE CURRENTLY ON HOLD, AS FEW PLANTS SURVIVE TRANSPLANT DURING THE HOT SUMMER MONTHS. We will announce when we are able to continue rescuing the lovelies.

Life doesn't always have the best interests of our gardens in mind, and we are very familiar with the agony of sometimes having to leave pretty plants behind. Prior to starting Alberta Girl Acres, owner Sarah Adams was a rental tenant who brought her love of growing things to each home she spent time in. Dreaming, digging, planting, and beautifying outdoor spaces was simply in her blood, but all too often, that meant investing time and money into gardens with uncertain futures. While she left many yards much lovelier than she found them, she has also had to say goodbye to too many gorgeous shrubs, perennials, and fruit trees. Sadly, moving plants from one yard to the next is not always possible. Space, light, and time don't always allow us to bring our tender darlings to our new homes.

Alberta Girl Acres wants to change that. Does your hybrid tea rose need a new spot to call home? Is your mother digging up the raspberries that formed so many of your childhood memories? Are your neighbours getting rid of a long-admired shrub? Do you simply want a landscaping overhaul, and don't know what to do with the old plants? Let's talk.

If you have a plant that needs a new home, please contact us. We're more than happy to welcome it into our farmy family.

Our plant saving powers do have some limitations, however. We are unable to dig up large, established trees (but if you want to take that on, we're still happy to adopt the tree!), and can only transport plants up to approximately six feet high. We can also only pick up plants from the Calgary and Lethbridge areas, and we can only take them if they are healthy and disease-free. We prefer you do the digging so our pick up rounds are fast and efficient, but if you are unable to do so we can dig up your plant(s) for a fee of $25 per hour.

We also accept drop-offs of healthy plants, simply contact us to arrange a time.

BONUS: If the value of your donation exceeds $200, we're happy to offer you a free floral design workshop!

And of course, we do not accept stolen plants, or plants removed from a property without permission from the owners or developers.

Thank you, and we look forward to loving your pretty plants!
